Easy & Delicious Salted Caramel Cold Brew

salted caramel cold brew

I recently got my first salted caramel sauce and I’m obsessed. I don’t know why I waited so long to try this! It gives the most delicious taste to iced coffee drinks. Starbucks and Dutch Bros have been making salted caramel and salted mocha drinks for years, but I never tried them because I didn’t think I’d like a salty coffee drink. Finally, I caved and tried the Starbucks salted caramel cream cold brew version. It was a little too salted for my preference, but I liked the flavor profile and I knew I could make it even better at home.

For this recipe, I topped the salted caramel cold brew with cinnamon cold foam, but you could top with whatever flavor you want. It’s seriously so easy to make. Just be careful, because these are addicting. I’m on my second one today!

Here’s what you’ll need to make one at home. I’m including some variations as well to give you options.

  • Cold Brew – Personally, I always keep Stok Cold Brew around in the fridge. It’s the best tasting cold brew IMO. You can also use iced coffee here. Or, you can sub for 2 shots of espresso and 1/2 cup of water, to create the flavor of iced coffee, or you can use 2 espresso shots and 1/2 cup milk of choice for a latte base.
  • Salted Caramel Sauce – The star of the show, no doubt! I bought mine from Kyya Chocolate. They make small batch syrups and sauces and ship them fresh. They are so good! This one tastes perfect. Just the right amount of caramel to salt. Get 10% off your order with my code: WHATTHEFROTHKYYA10.
  • Heavy Cream – You’ll need this for the cold foam.
  • Milk of choice – You’ll need this for your cold foam as well.
  • Cinnamon Syrup – I love the Monin Cinnamon Bun, but I’ve also made cinnamon syrup at home and it’s super delicious. I shared the recipe here on the blog. It’s the best. You can sub this out for whatever flavor you want. You can use vanilla, more salted caramel sauce, or any flavor you like.
  • Alternatives – If you don’t want to make a cold foam, you can also add the cinnamon syrup to your favorite milk of choice and add that to the cold brew to create a creamy and delicious drink. You’ll need about 1/4 cup milk to get a similar creaminess to the cold foam.

For tools, if you make the cold foam, you’ll need the hand frother. I love this one. It’s the best one I’ve tried.
