We recently sung the praises of the Dutch Bros Nitro Cold Brew and thought – well, it’s only fair to talk about Starbucks Cold Brew too.
Unlike the Dutch Bros, you can conveniently buy Starbucks Cold Brew in larger bottles at your nearest Target or store. You can even order it online and pick it up curbside – like your own drive through coffeeshop.

What Is Starbucks Cold Brew?
Starbucks Cold Brew is made through a method of brewing that combines ground coffee and cool water and uses time instead of heat to extract the flavor. Their cold brew is brewed in small batches and steeped for up to 48 hours.
They use a premium blend of beans specifically selected to brew cold, for a smooth coffee with subtle cocoa notes.
We think the Starbucks Cold Brew is a super smooth, low acid, cold coffee that is the perfect base for any iced coffee recipe. Drink it black or add syrups and creamer to create your own favorite coffee drink at home.
Is Starbucks Cold Brew the Same as Iced Coffee?
Great question! There are a few differences between their cold brew and iced coffee, but you can buy both at the store (and they’re both delicious).
According to their website, “Cold Brew is made without heat, which creates lower acidity for a smoother, naturally sweet taste. Iced Coffee is brewed like coffee, but double strength, and then cooled, which creates a refreshing, lighter body.”
I can say that I drink both and they’re both delicious. I did find the cold brew to be a bit smoother when black, but I don’t drink my coffee black very often, so once syrup and cream is added – they are quite similar.
How Much Caffeine is in Starbucks Cold Brew?
Hallelujah for caffeine! Starbucks cold brew is packed with 205mg for 16 fl oz. In comparison, Starbucks iced coffee has 165mg of caffeine for the same amount.
That means, you get more caffeine per ounce with the cold brew vs. iced coffee! Yum!
How Many Calories are in Starbucks Cold Brew?
Starbucks Cold Brew is one of the healthiest coffees you can drink, with only 15 calories for 12 fl. oz.! Add a splash of heavy cream and you’ll be full keto.
In comparison, Starbucks Iced Coffee has 60 calories for 12 fl. oz., so you get less caffeine and more calories. Hmmm….
What Cold Brew Drinks Can You Get at Starbucks?
Ahhh, now we’re talkin’! There are some seriously delicious drinks that use cold brew coffee as the base. Here are some of our favorites.
1. Starbucks Cold Brew Coffee With Milk:
This simple and delicious iced coffee drink is low in calories and can be customized to whatever milk you like.
2. Starbucks Honey Almondmilk Cold Brew:
My personal favorite – this one is sweetened with honey and has a dash of almondmilk for those of us that are dairy-free!
3. Starbucks Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew:
The other WTF writer says this is their most favorite coffee of all time and definitely their fave at Starbucks!
4. Starbucks Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew:
I’m a huge salted caramel fan and am all about adding it to coffee (as well as anything else). The salt definitely gives it a unique flavor that is a bit more tart than the other options.
5. Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew:
My FAVORITE holiday drink at Starbucks. The pumpkin cold brew is SO SO GOOD. I am not a fan of the traditional pumpkin spice latte (don’t judge), but I love this one. If you also don’t like PSL, you might really like this one instead.
6. Starbucks Irish Cream Cold Brew:
The new Irish cream drinks at both Starbucks and Dutch Bros are seriously so good and we are here for this slightly unexpected coffee pairing.
