Ahh, nugget ice. It really does make iced coffees even better, doesn’t it? I wish all coffee shops would get on the nugget ice train. At least we can make it at home for perfect nugget ice coffee drinks every day.
My love for nugget ice is no secret. That’s why my husband bought me a nugget ice maker for Christmas last year. But, while it does make ice, it is unfortunately very loud and not very attractive, so I found myself making a batch of ice and then moving it into the garage until I needed more. I tried to freeze the ice to preserve it, but it would clump together and become unusable. Over time, I used it less and less and now it’s pretty much a permanent fixture in the garage.
I’ve seen some of these nicer nugget ice makers both in person and on social media and they are much quieter, sleeker, and produce better batches of ice. They are a bit more of an investment, but in my opinion, I would have rather waited a little longer to get one and picked up one of these. 2. Gevi Household V2.0 Countertop Gemi Nugget Ice Maker – Price Varies (around $350)
This one is another highly recommended ice maker that I’ve seen used by a lot of coffee bloggers. It makes ice in 15 minutes, up to 30 lbs. of ice per day and has a 4.8 lb. ice basket. It’s also equipped with a noise compressor so it’s quieter, which is definitely something important to me after my experience. There’s a lot of other great features, too.
3. Frigidaire Nugget Ice Maker – Price Varies (around $300)
This one makes 44 lbs. of ice a day, with each batch taking around 15 minuts. It has a very stylish and sleek design that won’t be too obtrusive on your counter. I really love the look of this one and I’ve had really great luck with Frigidaire products. The price of this one, coupled with all of the features, makes it a great option.
4. Newair Nugget Ice Maker Countertop – Under $300
This one looks so much more expensive than it is. While I’m not looking for black, I know a lot of people are and this is a very chic option. It also makes 44 lbs. of ice, with a batch taking just minutes. It has very similar features to the others, such as self cleaning features and a lot more.
5. Aeitto Nugget Ice Maker Countertop – Under $300
This one makes 55 lbs. of ice! It has a rapid ice release that’ll give you perfect nugget ice in 5 Mins. There’s also an auto water refill, and a self-cleaning function. I love this blue color, too.
6. COSTWAY Self Dispensing Nugget Ice Maker Countertop – Under $300
Gotta love this self dispensing nugget ice maker! If you are using your countertop ice maker for a lot of gatherings or guests, you may not want everyone digging their hands inside with the scooper, because your fingers do brush the ice at times. This self dispensing version eliminates any potential for contamination.
